# Quick searches by specific year range filters

Users can narrow their search results for abstract records using the **Creation Date** and **Source Publication Year** filters in the left-hand pane of the search results page.

### Creation Date

This filter refers to the date the abstract record was added to the CABI Digital Library.

Users can refine results using:

* A **slider** to select a custom date range
* **Quick links** for commonly used timeframes:
  * **Last Year** – records added during the previous calendar year (e.g. 1 January to 31 December 2024)
  * **Last 6 Months** – records added in the past six months (e.g. 1 January to 1 July 2025)
  * **Last 3 Months** – records added in the past three months (e.g. 1 April to 1 July 2025)
  * **Last Month** – records added during the previous calendar month (e.g. 1 to 30 June 2025)
  * **Last Week** – records added in the seven days prior to the present day

### Source Publication Year

This filter refers to the original publication year of the source material from which the abstract was created. Users can select one or more specific years to narrow results.

Both filters can be used together or independently to better target recent content or newly added records.
